Earthquake Charities
From time to time we receive requests for places to donate money to in regards to Earthquakes. QuakeCov has not verified any of the financials of any of these donation sites, but below is a small list of some of the better known ones.
A Partial List of Earthquake Charities:

Direct Relief. “Direct Relief is a humanitarian aid organization, active in all 50 states and more than 80 countries, with a mission to improve the health and lives of people affected by poverty or emergencies – without regard to politics, religion, or ability to pay.”

The Seismological Society of America: “SSA has been committed to advancing seismology and sharing research with the public to help build an earthquake-aware world. Compassion International: “Donations made to Compassion’s Disaster Relief Fund help make critical interventions possible following earthquakes, hurricanes and cyclones, landslides and flooding, volcanic eruptions, wildfires, tsunamis, and other severe weather and natural disasters.”
Earthquake Engineering Research Institute: With a donation to the EERI: “Your gift allows us to engage our members’ intellectual resources to further our objectives, exercise leadership, and serve the Institute’s mission and its members. Your tax deductible gift will enable us to continue creating results-focused programs that make a difference in the years ahead.”
Additionally: Typically after a severe earthquake many non profits create a special donor option for relief from a given earthquake. Therefore after a major quake the Red Cross, as an example, may create a specific earthquake fund specifically for that actual quake.
There are also numerous academic charities that you can support as well, which are generallly not listed.
